작업 내용

Be the point of reference for LCA at Mars and work to establish supplier specific impact factors. Working across the business, and externally with expert NGO and consultant partners, ensure consistency and internal awareness of our accounting approaches.

What are we looking for?
  • Minimum 5 years experience in sustainability accounting and/or LCA covering Scope 3 carbon emissions, water and other impact areas.
  • Understanding of the external landscape of sustainability data sources for corporate reporting, in particular familiarity with external guidance (GHG Protocol, Gold Standard Intervention Accounting guidance, Natural Climate Solutions)
  • Experience with corporate sustainability accounting protocols & reporting frameworks (CDP, etc.)
  • Proven track record of generating sustainability insights to influence business strategy and growth.
What will be your key responsibilities?
  • LCA Subject Matter Expert for Mars Inc.

Leverage on previously acquired experience to work with segment teams to understand their data needs (new materials, more representative granularity). Ensure that sufficient granularity of data is available for internal decision making. Work with LCA consultants to identify best practices and sources of data (e.g,. WFLDB, geoFootprint). Act as an internal consultant, ensuring that Segment-led LCA work is seen as credible by Mars Inc, and thus can be used for impact accounting, and advising on the credibility of impact data related Claims. Stay apprised of environmental accounting regulation (e.g., PEF, for it’s bearing on our impact calculation approaches).

  • Internal & External Reporting Process

Contribute to the Internal (Q4/1) and external (Q2/3) reporting process for Mars Healthy Planet data, including Compass/Board reporting, CDP, EMF, Food waste, Customer requests, and engaging associates across the business to provide data and context about Mars’ sustainability performance. Ensure that each value chain stage (e.g., Raw Materials, packaging, business travel, etc..) is appropriately accounted for at agreed levels of granularity.

  • Increase the granularity of impact factors

Leverage on LCA assessment expertise to support the trend of higher granularity in impact factors, helping Mars, Incorporated to progressively move away from national (or global!) averages and move toward sub national, supply shed or even supplier specific impact factors.

Work with Impact leads to set the strategy for how and when Mars should adopt supplier specific impacts, to account for improvements in our value chain. Find the middle ground of enough granularity to maintain data quality, but not so much as to be burdensome to suppliers or our own systems. This activity directly supports the achievement of our 2025 and later HP targets.

  • Sustainability data improvements & systematization

Be conversant in the data systems & tools available in Mars’ Corporate Sustainability team today (Enablon, MGIS, SimaPro). Look for improvement & systematization opportunities for Mars’ sustainability data. Examples include: automation of geospatial accounting in MGIS, improved retail impact models (as retail models shift more to e-commerce), etc.

What can you expect from Mars?
  • Work with over 130,000 like-minded and talented Associates, all guided by The Five Principles.
  • Join a purpose driven company, where we’re striving to build the world we want tomorrow, today.
  • Best-in-class learning and development support from day one, including access to our in-house Mars University.
  • An industry competitive salary and benefits package, including company bonus.
