Job Purpose and Impact

The Technical Account Manager Bakery with deep oils & fats expertise will provide technical advice and support to key bakery customers during and after product sales. In this role, you will be the lead contact for key bakery customers, and you will stay ahead of technology and business practices through workshops, research and professional meetings.

Key Accountabilities

  • Serve as the point of contact for oils and fats expertise and use this expertise to influence current bakery customers and prospects.
  • Provide customer solutions and technical support materials to bakery customers.
  • Perform complex research for product development to understand product properties and systems operations.
  • Compile and analyze data for project update, working with external suppliers to test new products and technologies to make recommendations on applications.
  • Organize project data and conclusions for internal and customer presentations, assist with product demonstrations and service as subject matter guide during meetings with prospective customers.
  • Stay ahead of product insight and research to improve value of offerings.
  • Keep application and value collection up to date in the systems.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in food chemistry, food technology, chemistry, engineering or other related field
  • Relevant expertise in bakery application including vegetable oils and fats expertise, verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimum of four years of related customer facing working experience in a technical role and associated customer relationship network or relevant R&D expertise on customer level.
  • Fluent in English
  • Open to travel up to 30-50%
Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree, Doctorate degree in food chemistry, food technology/engineering, chemistry, human nutrition or other related field.
  • Six years of relevant customer facing working experience in a technical role and associated customer relationship network or relevant R&D expertise on customer level.
  • Detailed expertise in oils and fats chemistry
  • Experience with cross-functional and multi-cultural teams
  • Develop and foster strong relationships with internal and external partners
  • Passion for understanding, creating, and communicating value and solutions to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to translate industry/market trends into new opportunities and solutions for existing and new customers/markets
  • Fluent in other languages
