Lab Engineer

Scope of work:

  • responsible for projects increasing the quality of the analytical and production activities in collaboration with the lab specialists. This includes root cause analysis, trending, documentation, implementation of improvements and follow up.
  • responsible for (the coordination of) safety related projects within the lab team in collaboration with the safety coordinator.
  • responsible for the maintenance of the document flow and the training system.
  • help improve the working of the lab by supporting improvement projects and actively seek out improvement opportunities.
  • support the expansion of our lab capabilities by assisting in acquiring and qualifying new equipment.

  • thrive in a very dynamic environment, able to switch gears in an environment of fast changing priorities and timelines but can keep a clear overview.
  • organized and punctual.
  • analytical and critical mindset: you can analyze complex data, able to lead or participate in six sigma projects, you proactively seek opportunities for improvement in our way of working.
  • have a good understanding of the day-to-day operations of a lab environment.
  • work according the Good Laboratory Practices principles.
  • communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and are able to adjust the communication based on your audience.
  • have proven project management skills and able to support multiple projects at the same time.
  • flexible in your time schedule to work in accordance with the needs of the team.

Background & profile:

  • Master degree in a relevant scientific discipline or similar through experience.
  • 2 years of experience in a pharmaceutical/biotech laboratory environment.
  • Experience in six sigma projects is a plus.
  • A basic understanding of GMP, qualification, validation and regulatory activities.
  • Fluent in Dutch/English
