The Energy Business Unit in a nutshell

Vinçotte is organized into 4 major business units. In our Energy & other Process Industries division (EOP) we offer a diverse set of solutions to increase customer safety. Among others, our services cover (Advanced) Non-destructive testing (NDT), Statutory Inspections of pressure equipment, Asset Integrity Management and risk management, process safety, predictive analytics solutions to increase safety/quality/performance, compliance verification, Management systems certification.

Your responsibilities

Digitalization & automation change increasingly/exponentially the face of these industrial activities. The convergence of IoT, Artificial Intelligence, and robotics, among other evolutions, has enabled the opportunity to move towards smarter factories. To answer appropriately to these challenges, Vinçotte continuously invests in innovation, in particular in the Advanced Non-Destructive Testing (ANDT) technologies. Therefore, we want to enforce our Advanced NDT team with a Lead Contract Engineer dedicated to Innovation to implement any innovative solutions within the Operations.

The Lead Contract Engineer Innovation will play a key role as a link between the Innovation team and the Operations. The main activities of the Lead Contract Engineer Innovation shall be:

• Help to implement the EOP innovation program;
• Develop pragmatically solutions that improve the added value we deliver to our customers;
• Implement these new solutions within the Operations;
• Lead the integration of new technologies to facilitate the deployment of digital solutions;
• Manage properly every aspect (contractual, technical, training,…) to allow the deployment of the new solutions;
• Build intimacy with customers & staff members to capture and answer their needs.

Knowledge, skills & experience

• Industrial or Civil Engineer with relevant experience in new digital inspection technologies and/or Advanced Non-Destructive Testing;
• Bilingual FR/NL, proficiency in EN with good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills;
• Ready to go on-site;
• Passionate about implementing new technologies on the field;
• Able to understand a lot of different techniques;
• Genuine interest & experience in innovation, product/service development, or digital transformation;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Strong practical rigor on the field with good manual dexterity;
• Able to develop with limited support solutions, prototypes & minimum viable product (MVP);
• Strong commercial focus and able to onboard customers to develop test/pilots with them;
• Organized, capable of prioritizing work and focusing on important tasks;
• Collaborates effectively and seeks out/ replicates better practices;
• Overcomes barriers that inhibit interaction & goes beyond ‘borders’ to connect with others.

Bonus skills

• Knowledge of 3D modeling;
• Knowledge of coding;
• Knowledge of drones;
• Knowledge of the Energy sector: renewables, conventional and nuclear power plants in particular;
• Knowledge of general metallurgy and safety mechanisms;
• Knowledge of relevant codes and norms.

• UT Level 2 ISO9712;
• UT Phased Array or TOFD Level 2;
• ET, RT or VT Level 2 ISO9712.
