For our Intervention Centre in Sint-Pieters-Leeuw ( see the map here ) we’re looking for a Maintenance Coordinator Pipeline (m/f/x).

Your respon­sibilities

• Working with a team of technicians, you will monitor the integrity of the Fluxys natural gas transmission system, carrying out pigging operations to inspect the internal condition of the pipeline network
• You will work with a team of welders and fitters to monitor the continuity of operations on the network and coordinate network adaptations on site
• You will receive extensive training, giving you the necessary understanding of how to:
• clean pipes
• use intelligent pigging to inspect the internal condition of pipes
• carry out interventions on the network
• You will manage a specialist team and coordinate pigging operations, including the following:
• assessing the piggability of pipelines, in consultation with a project manager where necessary, and having the necessary adaptations made
• creating circuit diagrams, in consultation with other Fluxys departments
• devising implementation methods and discussing schedules
• scheduling the pigging operations together with the other teams involved
• coordinating the construction and dismantling of temporary facilities along the pipelines to be pigged
• coordinating cleaning runs, where the interior of the pipes is cleaned by means of pigging
• overseeing intelligent pigging operations carried out by contractors, and taking any action needed to facilitate this work
• liaising with your colleagues to prepare a multi-year schedule for inspections and discussing this with all parties involved
• You will manage a specialist team and coordinate interventions on the network. The above duties will be the primary focus of the job. In time you will acquire knowledge about our adaptation work (replacing sections of pipeline or building new infrastructure) for:
• natural gas
• CO2 capture
• hydrogen transport
• Here the focus will be on:
• determining the best intervention technique in consultation with the project manager and operations team
• preparing works and devising schedules
• coordinating the performance of adaptation work and leading a team of welders and fitters to this end
• evaluating damage claims and assessing their acceptability
• advising on equipment and welding issues and providing support regarding the development of technical aspects concerning welding
• You will ensure site safety at all times
• You will deal with the administrative side of works and will compile the necessary reports
• Though you will be based at the Sint-Pieters-Leeuw Intervention Centre, much of your work will be on sites throughout Belgium

About you

• You hold a Bachelor’s degree in electromechanical engineering or have equivalent experience
• We welcome applications from new graduates as well as more experienced candidates
• You have an International Welding Specialist diploma or are willing to complete the corresponding course
• You are a real team player with excellent leadership and communication skills (NB: the job is 60% office-based and 40% field-based and comes with a company car for work-related journeys)
• You can manage and motivate others and give them constructive feedback
• You have a solution-oriented mindset and considerable organisational skills
• You demonstrate the necessary attention to detail and effort when it comes to admin
• You are a competent user of MS Office
• You have an excellent command of Dutch and French. Knowledge of English would be an asset
• You live less than 60 minutes away from our HQ in Brussels
• You have a category B driving licence
