Job Purpose and Impact

The Communications Senior Manager will develop and implement an aligned internal and external communication strategy within Cargill Animal Nutrition’s Europe, Middle East and Africa regions to support employee engagement and drive business growth. You’ll work closely with the regional managing director and leadership team to drive communication activities in alignment with the broader business and company strategy. You will collaborate with the global and regional communication teams, including the media relations, digital and social teams.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop and implement a regional communications strategy for Cargill Animal Nutrition in alignment with the global group communications strategy, to drive effective internal and external communications.
  • Advise regional leadership on effective communications with employees and other critical stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Drive collaboration between integrated teams from various communications practices to build and implement the strategy.
  • Lead, coordinate and execute internal communication campaigns in the region from a content perspective across multiple channels to drive employee engagement and alignment around key business priorities.
  • Help create, raise visibility, and tell stories that position the company as a thought leader in the industry on key topics relevant to our customers.
  • Provide customer-facing teams with key messages and support around issues and key business initiatives, in partnership with marketing and commercial excellence.
  • Serve on issues management response teams, alongside Government Relations, Corporate Responsibility and other global functions, to manage Cargill’s reputation and license to operate.
  • Utilize global communications common tools, templates and processes to facilitate integrated communications across Cargill.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in strategic communication planning and implementation
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint
  • Deep understanding of communications channels and content development for those channels, as well as measurable outcomes
  • Extensive experience with a variety of communications strategies used within a global, matrixed organization
  • Minimum of six years of related work experience
  • Strong business acumen to advise leadership and effectively partner with marketing and sales teams
  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision
  • Issues management experience
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to translate complicated messaging into easily understood language
  • Strong influencing and listening skills
  • Experience with purpose-driven brands and sustainability storytelling is a strong plus
  • Ability to motivate and guide employees who report indirectly
  • Familiarity with food and nutrition topics and issues
