Background & mission

Within the Service division of the Compressor Technique business area, we have a track record of more than 10 years in connecting compressors. Today the Smartlink solution hosts more than 200.000 machines, generating valuable data that is being used in the way we do business.

In this key role you define the further roadmap of our Smartlink IoT platform and together with your team you deploy the necessary activities to implement this roadmap end to end.

You gather ideas and functional requirements from different stakeholders in engineering, marketing and operations. You work closely together with the applied machine intelligence team in engineering and take responsibility for the end-to-end implementation to industrialize these ideas and functionalities in the Smartlink IoT platform according agreed timeframes.

Some Key Domains That Are In Scope
  • We have the ambition to further develop the Smartlink IoT platform as the key communication platform to our connected customers concerning all activities related to their installed base
  • The Smartlink IoT Platform is the backbone of all service product offerings that make use of diagnostic services. As such it continuously needs to be developed further to become smarter and more automated.
  • For the sales departments in the Customer Centers the Smartlink IoT Platform is the basic engine to generate sales leads based on the relevant unit data.
  • For operations the Smartlink IoT Platform needs to be developed further to become the master for predictive and prescriptive maintenance products.
Main Tasks And Responsibilities
  • You have the end-to-end responsibility to define and implement the Smartlink IoT roadmap.
  • You are the business owner of the Smartlink IoT platform and as such take into account uptime and security of the platform.
  • You define the required resources in numbers and skills in the team to deliver the roadmap according agreed timeframes.
  • You follow up on developments and timelines of teams in other departments within CTS and also outside CTS (e.g. Airtec engineering for new controllers, new upload or communication devices) and align activities with the own roadmap.
  • You identify bottlenecks that can jeopardize the roadmap and take ownership to define actions to mitigate.
  • The strategy for implementation is agile development. You define the scrum and sprint planning to come to continuous delivery of functionalities on the roadmap.
Experience & Technical Requirements
  • You are experienced in the world of Connectivity, IoT and the value it brings
  • You are familiar with the typical building blocks and architectures of an industrial IoT platform
  • You follow the market in this domain and have a strategic vision what to apply specifically for Atlas Copco
  • You are an experienced team manager that can steer a team of specialists to deliver the vision
  • You have strong skills in managing an IT focused project
  • You are fluent in English: both written and spoken.
For this function you will report to the VP engineering of the service division.

Personality Requirements

The ideal candidate is strong result-driven manager

Experience in managing multidisciplinary software teams is a plus

You have a very good knowledge of English. An additional language is considered as a plus.

Educational degree
  • Master in IOT / Computer Science or equivalent
