As a Mechanic designer, you will be welcomed in the team in Nieuwpoort. You will work in tandem with the mechanical project engineer. On top of that, you will work in a small multi-disciplinary team, where you will have close collegial contact.

The function

As a mechanical project engineer, you will be responsible for the mechanical team and will take the lead over the mechanic designer. You will be able to work in a multi-disciplinary team with close communication lines.

You will be responsible for the design and the coordination of the product – and process installations. The projects start from the client’s question, solution thinking till the project is overhanded. The guarantee is included as well. You will be challenged in your technical skills and communication. No need to say a good team spirit is necessary.

• You will be in close contact with clients and Field sales. Together you will conceptualize the client’s needs and take the end product and the process into consideration.
• With this information, you will suggest a project proposal in a format.
• You will also make a detailed project plan which includes the budget limitations, procedures, required equipment, and technical services.
• In this proposal, the costs and required equipment and technical services are included. Sales engineering will support you in that process.
• You create project spreadsheets to communicate cost -, price -, marge – and planning information.
• The accountants count on you for the right price.-, based on your documentation about prices and price change they make up the billing.
• You coordinate project activities from the government or other regulatory authorities.

The profile

• You have a bachelor’s or masters with a mechanical background. Or you have gained the required experience on the job.
• As long as you are familiar with structural analysis.
• Project management is something that suits you, as you already have proven in your curriculum. 3-5 years of experience as a project manager is recommended.
• Of course, you can develop 2D and 3D drawings. SolidWorks and AutoCAD are the design tools used at Marlen.
• No need to point out you will need to have an eye for qualitative service, work very accurately, and can manage challenging situations.
• You are interested in waring different heads.
• Can you speak English AND Dutch or French? Only English is not enough.
