Specialising in the life sciences, medical technologies, oil and gas, energy and advanced technologies sectors, the Group provides consultancy and process engineering expertise to leading clients globally via their four operating business units.
One of these business units is DPS Contract Services. We provide contingent contract and temporary labour to the existing customer base within the engineering field for clients in the scientific and technology sectors throughout Europe via their network of offices located in Ireland, UK, Belgium and Holland. We also provide engineering staff to the various DPS divisions on a contract basis.
Role
The MES Engineer is responsible for implementing and supporting the MES System. Increased digitalisation & Automatisation has caused the automation concept with central Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to become an important part of production. This is why our client is investing in a new MES system.
The MES engineer will implement and support this new MES system. As such the MES engineer checks the technical implementation of the several teams and sets up integration across different applications and platforms.
- Implement the MES system across the site taking into account area specific ways of working
- Prepare the necessary test and validation documents to prove the system working as designed
- Perform E2E testing of the MES system and integration
- Communicate progress with design and technical lead
- Either independently or together with the end users, commission the system with coverage during startup
- Coordinate with the different Automation teams to deploy an integrated solution taking into account validation, infrastructure, communication and applications.
- Make small alterations while keeping the stakeholders vision into account
- Provide second line support during regular operations
- Check quality and/or perform Code Review of completed work
- Maintain the system lifecycle by implementing changes and continuous improvement actions
- Work with end users and other engineers to determine the user requirement specification (URS) and application purposes of software
- Conduct risk assessments
- Compose the machine file and manuals for the systems
Profile:
- Master diploma or equivalent based on experience
- Knowledge of automation systems such as PLC’s, communication protocols
- Basic knowledge of Databases
- Strong analytical skills, methodically set, innovative thinker
- Hands-on mentality
- Team player with the ability to work independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English
Optional qualifications:
- Experience in software development
- Experience in a Pharmaceutical environment
- Knowledge one or more modern programming languages, new software technologies, industrial computer hardware, -software and –networks
- Experience in executing and follow up of automation projects and/or software projects
- Experience with problem solving / troubleshooting and data analysis.
- Experience with Messagebus systems like ActiveMQ & Kafka.
- Experience in working with external parties on process automation projects
- Experience with GMP regulation and computer validation/testing.
