Job Title: Operations Manager - Sports

Location: NATO Sport Centre, Belgium

About The Role

The Operation Manager leads the Tennis, Pool, and Fitness & Wellbeing Departments, ensuring operational excellence, programme quality, and team performance across all service areas. As the key liaison with NATO for all sports and wellbeing matters, you will collaborates closely with the Experience & Quality Manager to maintain compliance and excellence under the strategic supervision of the GM.

Together with the Experience & Quality Manager, this role also supports community engagement, marketing initiatives, and membership growth. You will focus on, and monitor, performance outcomes, participation metrics, and programme visibility, ensuring both impact and sustainability.

Your Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of sports, fitness, pool, and wellbeing services.
  • Ensure performance, service quality, and achievement of KPIs and contractual goals.
  • Manage, coach, and develop department coordinators and staff.
  • Implement and monitor training plans, schedules, and service delivery standards.
  • Develop and evaluate member programmes, initiatives, and engagement events.
  • Contribute to business cases, budgets, and performance reporting aligned with the strategic direction.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager – Experience & Quality for compliance, health & safety, and operational excellence.
  • Act as key liaison with NATO stakeholders for all sports, aquatics, and wellbeing-related topics.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management, Health Promotion, Hospitality or equivalent.
  • Established experience in a leadership role within a sports, health, or corporate wellness environment.
  • Operational coordination, team management, and service excellence experience.
  • Experience working in multi-service environments (fitness, wellness, events, etc.).
  • Able to manage both administrative and people management responsibilities.
  • Data-driven and performance-oriented, with strong attention to detail.
  • Skilled communicator, able to interface with clients, stakeholders and teams in a multicultural environment.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); French and/or Dutch is a strong asset.
  • Ability to utilise planning, HR and operational systems.

Salary, Perks & Benefits

  • 4000€ bruto/month +small company car
  • 8% holiday allowance
  • Eco-cheques (EUR 20 p.m. based on fulltime employment)
  • Compensation of 3 days for the collective closure at NATO
