Product Owner - Infrastructure and Platform

Job Description:

Agfa HealthCare develops imaging and information solutions for hospitals worldwide enabling them to provide more efficient and effective care for patients. The Agfa HealthCare integration of health records & systems improves the ability of healthcare providers to provide better and more timely care.

As a key member of the Research and Development SAFe Agile Release Train, you will be involved in the development and delivery of a product suite that enables healthcare providers to consolidate and integrate health records for millions of patients across regions and nations. You will interact directly with product management, other internal stake holders, and customers ensuring successful design and specification of the overall Agfa solution to maximize the value delivered by your agile scrum team. You will act as the primary customer advocate and link between the business and the technology strategy. You will also be involved in knowledge transfer of newly developed features to the above groups. For our Agfa Healthcare solution suite, we are currently seeking a Product Owner - Infrastructure and Platform, to join our team in Belgium.

• The Product Owner provides product/domain leadership to a multi-functional team responsible for definition, development, delivery, serviceability, and lifecycle of software and hardware products used in support of the Agfa Healthcare solutions

• The Product owner is responsible for managing and prioritizing the team backlog to ensure maximum value delivery by the team

• The Product Owner is a highly motivated individual charged with contributing to the vision and road map of Agfa Healthcare solutions by understanding market forces, representing the end user, assisting with full ART backlog prioritization and knowledge transfer

• The Product Owner provides servant leadership to the agile team by balancing stake holder perspectives, elaborating on stories, ensure built-in quality, and active participation in team and ART events

• They can articulate the current capabilities of their product area and determine the future direction of development as it aligns with the large business initiatives. They are conscious of the costs to build, deploy and maintain their product; continually striving to ensure maximum market value of the solution

• Ability to occasionally travel world-wide, including overnight travel up to a maximum of 20% of the time, as appropriate

  
  

Responsibilities:

• Define requirements for product success to the Scrum Team for design & implementation

• In close cooperation with Solution Management, continuously evaluate market needs against product(s)/component(s) capabilities to develop product vision and roadmap

• Assess proposed engineering solutions effectiveness in meeting those market needs

• Participate in multi-product solution composition/decomposition, providing product(s)/component(s) to realize customer value from the solution

• Prioritize the work to be done according the value for the business

• Define problem statements to achieve value (features, stories) for the business

• Visualize the work to be done in a Product Backlog to provide functional transparency

• Visualize the team(s) mid to long term planning according Product Backlog and team(s) capacity and act upon changes and challenges

• Accept or reject work done by the team according to agreements made in definition of done, including evaluation and determination of acceptance criteria

• Transfer product knowledge to internal or external customers; provide responses to product feature/function queries

• Participate in pre-sales (Marketing) and after sales (Service) activities to ensure product is properly sold and is performing well in the solution

• Knowledge of MS Office applications and Atlassian JIRA & Confluence or other requirement management tools are an asset.

  
  

Complexity:

• Ability to create value for the business by feature (requirement) development prioritization and manage accordingly.

• Key relationship with team, Scrum Master, Solution Management, Program Management, R&D Management, and other stake holders.

  
  

Education & Experience:

• University or college education in computer or healthcare-related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Prior software product management experience is desired; this includes writing and managing of requirements and use cases, project scope and change management, roadmap definition

• Candidates with knowledge of Medical Imaging software, specifically with knowledge with Enterprise Imaging Solutions, Vendor Neutral Archiving (VNA), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), PACS, DICOM, HL7 and are highly desirable.

• Knowledge and experience with B2B Software solutions as well as large enterprise IT systems is an asset

• Pragmatic Marketing, SAFe or similar training is an asset

• Knowledge and understanding of IT platform concepts such as Kubernetes, VMware, Networking, and Storage a strong plus
