OverviewProject Engineerneeded for our Belgian teamPerhaps you are a Mechanical Engineer, who would like to work in projects? Or are you someone who likes a challenge and are a natural collaborator with a mechanical engineering background, project engineering could be your next career move.Our Project Engineersare an integral part of our team, as you will work to co-ordinate the project using your excellent mechanical knowledge and concept drawing skills to support the Engineering team. We are going through a period of change, and this mean that your technical knowledge, co-ordination and administration skills will be required to ensure that project timings work successfully.We estimate this role to be 50% design and 50% other work so it will have variety and no two days will ever feel the same.If you’re familiar with how a project works, you’ll know that managing and expediting all customer challenges and expectations internally is essential. So, it is vital that you are organised and can deal with these without delay. When there are questions relating to the project you will be resourceful to find the answers.This role reports into our lead Engineer who you will meet as part of the interview process.ResponsibilitiesWhat we’re looking for in a Project Engineer….
  • Someone who will execute a project by working in a structured way and follow up on quality of design, timing and cost; clear communication with everyone involved in the project will be key
  • You’ll make concept drawings, assembly drawings and be checking drawings made by JBT or external designers to ensure they are correct
  • Making sure that all data is input in the right place as we use multiple systems like OCE (drawing viewer), Creo + Windchill, and we have a JD Edwards business system
  • You will monitor the scope of the project, flagging any issues and make sure it remains fit for purpose, whilst updating manuals
  • As Project Engineer you will support and communicate with other departments such as the lead Project management team, Sales, Inspection and Planning; clear communication skills are a must
  • We require you to speak both English and Dutch, as English is our international communication language at JBT, but we will need you to talk to our team on the shop floor and for them speaking in Dutch is easier
  • We would like you to have an eye for safety and ergonomic design
QualificationsWhat we would like to see on your resume …
  • That you hold a master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 to 7 years’ experience in a similar industrial environment
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, 3D CAD systems are necessary: specific knowledge of Creo + Windchill is a plus
  • Experience with business systems is an advantage, knowledge of JD Edwards again would be a plus.
