The Role

Within the Air Treatment Engineering department, more specifically in the team responsible for product development and support for adsorption dryers, we have an exciting vacancy for a Project Engineer.

Job Description

As a member of a project team, led by the project leader, the project engineer is responsible for the development of new products and technologies. The development must take place in accordance with the applicable procedures and the project engineer ensures that the most important specification requirements are met in all respects (product performance & cost, project planning, project cost, ...). Within this assignment, the project engineer will make full use of his/her creativity to arrive at an innovative and high-quality design. In addition, you and your team will further expand the competence around MD / ND adsorption dryers.

You work closely with engineers, designers and the prototype lab. You also have contacts with colleagues in other departments (purchase, production, marketing, service, ...) and with suppliers.

You Are Involved In The Following Concrete Tasks
  • Calculating and selecting parts in consultation with suppliers, drawing up technical specifications for components;
  • Modeling & simulating the behaviour/performance of the machine or a functional part of it
  • Bringing innovative and future concepts/technologies that contribute to better productivity of our customers;
  • Support, guidance, motivation and follow-up of the designers in the design of main and other components;
  • Optimizing the design in consultation with suppliers, production and service;
  • Checking technical and functional specifications for the various components;
  • Drawing up test programs of prototype pieces;
  • Interpretation and analysis of test and calculation results
  • Supporting production method engineers and service specialists. This means that you already take into account and consult with those responsible for assembly, testing and service during the design phase;
  • Thorough consultation with suppliers, support in technical discussions with suppliers;
  • Follow-up of the project budget/planning and product costs during the development process
  • Taking corrective actions if project goals are in danger of not being achieved;
  • Ordering the necessary parts for building prototypes and supporting lab and production in building them;
  • Drafting the Bill Of Material of the design;
  • Release and maintenance of the drawings, documentation, instructions and BOM in the Product Lifecycle Management system;
  • Maintain relations with almost all internal departments: production, marketing, purchasing, finance/accounting, …;
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers, inspectors, subcontractors, sales companies and with customers as needed;
  • Communication and presentation of project results to all stakeholders.

What we expect of you?
  • Strong analytical mindset;
  • Knowledge and understanding of mechanical systems;
  • Experience with programming languages (i.e. MATLAB, VB.NET, ...) is an added value;
  • Great affinity and practical experience with technology, mechanics and electricity;
  • Good knowledge of MS Office;
  • Smooth Dutch and English communication.
Education

Solid technical background, Civil or Industrial Engineer degree.
