Job Purpose and Impact

The Ingredients Buyer will be responsible for supporting multiple country or multiple business sourcing activities, as well as playing an active role in contributing to building and executing the category strategy. In this role, you will contribute to managing stakeholders and suppliers, in alignment with the Category Strategy.

Key Accountabilities
  • Execute medium to high complex sourcing events as part of the category strategy (RFI, RFQ, supplier negotiations and contracting)
  • Support the implementation of regional sourcing decisions and provide support with the implementation of global sourcing decisions.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and analyze supplier operations to resolve factors that affect prices and the lowest cost, consistent with quality, reliability and ability to meet required schedules
  • Provide inputs to the global category team for category strategy development and execution.
  • Provide comprehensive understanding of regional stakeholder, and supplier/buyer power, key market players, market dynamics.
  • Monitor ongoing regional supplier and stakeholder relationships.
  • Follow established procedures to select suppliers for procurement of noncontracted materials, goods, services and supplies.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Manage and prioritize projects in a changing and dynamic environment
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience
  • Experience in leading negotiations with suppliers
  • Excellent English language
  • Microsoft Office knowledge
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced skills using relevant office programs and applications, ERP systems
  • Detail oriented, communicative person with strong problem solving skills
  • Experience in Food or Feed Ingredients
  • Previous Experience working as Buyer or Procurement
  • Second European language is an advantage
