As a project controls engineer, you drive the organisation towards continuous improvements in project effectiveness and efficiency. You provide the management with process optimizations based on benchmarks and lessons learned.
We need you to challenge and follow-up the external engineering contractor(s) by controlling the Beringen/Geleen investment projects in the area of estimates, schedule and the overall engineering work process. In order to achieve the project objectives in a cost efficient way.
Besides the above core responsibilities, you can add these to your list, you
* are the key responsible for the project control processes: reviewing estimates/schedules at different stages of the study, setting up schedule and cost control methodology for each project, following and intermediating reviews during execution because you are the key knowledge holder of available benchmarks and contract prices
* realise optimization of the project control processes: reviews after project implementation, capture lessons learned and translate these findings into process optimisations, training the main users of the process.
* secure process adherence and compliance in all projects, support to set up the project, review and audit compliance, identify gaps, agree on improvements actions and follow up the implementation. You benchmark the process and its performance versus the external world and introduce best practices.
* secures that the contractual scope description content remains aligned to the overall process Support PM in the correct selection of the deliverables.
* build up and maintain relationships with your internal and external engineering partners and closely cooperate with them to secure proper compliance to the different project steps.

Profile description:

Now, who are we looking for?

A highly motivated master in process, (bio)chemical engineering, who already has a first working experience in a technical/operational role in the chemical industry with profound knowledge of chemical processes, products and equipment. You communicate effectively both by proven business knowledge in English and Dutch. You are skilled in developing and maintaining professional relations and networks. You are a team player who is active in information sharing in order to improve team performance. A flexible mindset in working in 2 Borealis locations Beringen and Geleen is seen as an asset.
