We design and manufacture sensor-based sorting machines and integrated post-harvest solutions for the food industry, using the world’s most advanced grading, sorting, peeling, and analytical technology. Our mission is to enable our customers to improve returns, gain operational efficiencies, and ensure a safe food supply via smart and easy-to-use technologies. To achieve this, we operate centers of excellence, regional offices, and manufacturing locations within the United States, Europe, South America, Asia, Africa and Australasia.
We are currently looking for an experienced Technical Trainer to join our HQ team in Leuven.
The Technical Trainer ensures engaging and innovating technical training. He/she is responsible for the development of the new and existing staff, customers and agents in close cooperation with the other members of the training team. The Trainer is responsible for the training area and their content on the Learning Management System.
Organizing and planning remote sessions and classroom sessions in cooperation with his/her colleagues, the Trainer is responsible for acquiring the technical knowledge to become a subject matter expert and acts as an ambassador for TOMRA.
What you will do
- Design engaging technical training to meet the needs of our company.
- Train our customers, agents & TOMRA employees using different methodologies (remote video, classroom, LMS).
- Ensure the necessary documentation and didactic material to support the training sessions.
- Provide technical training, in-house and at the customer premises.
- Constantly evolve the quality of the training and improve if necessary.
- Evaluate the participants and keep management informed of their training level.
- Investigate and test new training tools, methods and technologies.
- Report and analyse training results.
- Remain on top of your game by continually remaining a player in technical production and/or services.
- Create content for and administer the learning management systems.
Candidate profile
- Degree, preferably in a technical / technical training field.
- Proven experience as a trainer in a technical area, preferably with (electro)mechanical products and in a B2B environment.
- Strong in absorbing new technical knowledge and transferring this into an easy-to-understand training.
- Business-fluent English to perform the job in a multinational setting. Other European languages (Dutch in particular) is a strong asset.
- Strong passion for education. A good teacher and coach who gives the necessary support and offers open and honest feedback to stimulate an open communication.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Result-driven, thorough planning and strong organisational skills.
- Takes initiative and pro-active.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.

• Flexible and able to travel globally (40-50 days/year).
