Context of Need

John Cockerill has been acting as global OEM in the energy sector for several decades, delivering heat recovery steam generators, industrial boilers and solar receivers for concentrated solar power plant.

In order to support the acceleration of its developments in renewable energy solutions, John Cockerill has grouped all these activities under a specific entity “John Cockerill Renewables”, with its specific and dedicated organization. It has four activities: solar & thermal storage, hydrogen, Integrated Renewables Solutions and EPC.

The hydrogen activities are organized under a subsidiary called “John Cockerill Hydrogen”. This entity takes advantage of:

  • Its current position as the worldwide leader in the manufacturing of electrolysers with more than 25 years of experience,
  • Complete range of integrated solutions for hydrogen production and refueling stations,
  • Manufacturing capacities in Asia and Europe,
  • Integrated test laboratory for key components of electrolysers.

In order to strengthen the development of its worldwide hydrogen activities, John Cockerill is looking for a new Reliability and Availability Engineer for the H2tech / RAMS Team.

Main responsibilities

As a Reliability and Availability Engineer, you will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Ensure the collection of reliability data based on all available information sources (OREDA data base, internal REX, external REX, suppliers, …),
  • Ensure the creation of specific JC-H2 reliability data (build quantitative analysis based on design and usage data),
  • Ensure the collection of maintainability data (TTR, TAT, …),
  • Challenge reliability and maintainability data of subcontractors,
  • Ensure configuration management of the system data in a suitable tool to use them on different study needed for JC-H2 development and project teams,
  • Develop completely new reliability and availability models of JC-H2 Electrolysers systems and sub systems (Systecon OPUS suite / Reliasoft),
  • Support the JC-H2 Electrolysers system availability improvement both intrinsically and operationally,
  • The establishment and dissemination of technical specification requirements as applicable to reliability and availability,
  • Provide regular updates on project status to project team and management. Proactively identify potential project risks with mitigation actions.

Profile

  • Master of Science degree preferably in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience within an engineering, electro-mechanical or electronic environment,
  • 3+ years’ experience in modeling activity such as, structure, thermal, fluid, or other modeling fields of activity,
  • Experience in reliability and availability modeling is highly recommended,
  • Experience in the Oil & Gaz industry would be considered advantageous,
  • Proficient in English and French language,
  • Mastery of MS Office Excel,
  • Proficient in other MS Office applications, such as Word, PowerPoint, Access, etc...
  • Experience on OPUS suite and Reliasoft suite is a plus,
  • Spirit of synthesis in development of reliability / availability report,
  • Curious and resilient personality to enter a new and under-development environment,
  • Organized, rigorous, available, motivated by the achievement and have the sense of initiative,
  • Good facilitator with team spirit.
