Currently, we are looking for a Research & Development Mechanical Engineer in Liège, Belgium to be part of our global team working together towards our mission – to bring meaningful moments to people in connected public spaces.

As our Research & Development Mechanical Engineer, you will support Schréder Group activities through mechanical engineering.

What you will do :

  • Identify and investigate unconventional mechanical features
  • Breakdown and specify luminaire functionality in terms of first principles
  • Analyse the current practices at Schréder and competitors
  • Integrate and evaluate technical solutions (numerical and physical tests)
  • Assess the solutions by leading business cases
  • Transition Schréder towards certification by simulation
  • Identify the most promising tests by business case
  • Define the simulation models
  • Evaluate model accuracy and determine appropriate corrective actions
  • Support Schréder teams through mechanical analysis and predictive engineering
  • Perform mechanical (static – dynamics) & thermal (CFD) simulations
  • Investigate and analyze quality cases

Skills Requested

  • Mechanical engineering master’s degree or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in similar position
  • Strong affinity with mechanical and thermal simulation
  • Applied knowledge in thermal and mechanical design
  • Language : English - Professional working efficiency
  • Soft skills specific: Solutions driven, Empathy, Communicant, Proactive, Can-Do attitude.
  • Knowledge in CAD software: Solidworks.
  • Knowledge of Solidworks Simulation and Flow Simulation are assets.
  • Knowledge of Altair Simlab and Simsolid Simulation are assets.
