The NCS Molecular Pathology group at Janssen Beerse site is seeking a scientist with strong molecular pathology expertise to enable Janssen to accomplish our shared goal of identifying safe, efficacious and ground-breaking therapies for the patients. The candidate will be expected to generate, in a very fast paced environment, comprehensive improved molecular pathology solutions, and to document and communicate results effectively to diversified audiences. The successful candidate will be expected to independently design and develop novel tissue section-based assays and workflows, strengthening the team ability to advance the discovery and development of therapeutic modalities and programs. Primary Responsibilities: Accountability for the design, development, and implementation of molecular pathology/biology assays. Demonstrate proficiency in designing and executing single/multiplex immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization. Generates molecular pathology data with the application of multiple pathology platforms (autostainers, spatial profiling using Nanostring technology, and spatial transcriptomics). May perform or supervise the design and execution of orthogonal experiments complementary to molecular pathology workflow, including generation of control cell lines, LCM, immunoblot, PCR. Perform image analysis with minimal supervision using multiple digital pathology tools/platforms or AI modules (e.g., Visiopharm, Halo, ImageJ). May assist, perform, or oversee routine histology workload (e.g., FFPE and OCT matrices), including but not limited to tissue trimming, processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining (H&E, and special stains) May assist, perform, or oversee tissue collection for regular or molecular pathology process optimization. Assist in the lab planning and data integrity, present at scientific meetings, author validation, technical, and investigational molecular pathology reports Qualifications A Ph.D. degree or M.S. degree (area of focus in molecular pathology, molecular biology, biomedical sciences or related fields) with at least 1-3 years of relevant experience. Experience and technical skills in applied molecular pathology and tissue technology is required. Experience with diverse automated histology and molecular pathology platforms is required. Histotechnology expertise is required. Basic experience working with image analysis platforms (e.g., HALO or ImageJ) is required. Experience with single cell analysis and spatial transcriptomics is a plus. What is in it for you?
