As a Section Manager for Design, Engineering & Solutions at Equans, you’ll have the chance to lead a dynamic team and make a significant impact in the nuclear sector.

Based in Dessel and Villers-le-Bouillet, with occasional travel to France, Germany or the rest of Europe, you’ll be part of our Specialized Nuclear Services department, a key player in the Energy Transition & Integrated Solutions Division.

Ready to take the helm? As a Section Manager, your daily tasks include:

  • managing and coordinating all activities in your section to reach targeted turnover and margins
  • planning, organizing, leading, coordinating and controlling all projects and related business activities, in order to reach the targeted objectives from a commercial, customer relationship, project implementation, financial turnover, budget, profit and resources management point of view
  • supervising the implementation steps related to the development of assets, services and markets
  • maintaining long-term relationships with customers, partners and subcontractors and detecting potential projects
  • negotiating with clients, subcontractors and partners in cooperation with Legal, Purchase and Tendering departments
  • managing your team and ensuring a positive work atmosphere
  • reporting regularly to the Department Manager on the activities and results of your section
  • watch over the application of safety, security and quality standards
  • supervise the monitoring of projects from an implementation/operational point of view

Does this sound like you?

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering
  • at least 15 years of experience in managing projects in a complex and preferably nuclear environment
  • experience in people management and the ability to motivate others
  • good knowledge of mechanical concepts and applications within the nuclear sector
  • ability to work well in an environment where several projects are taking place at the same time
  • ability to constructively challenge your team members and bring them to a higher level
  • commercial insight, customer satisfaction is important to you, and you enjoy long-term customer relationships
  • results oriented, entrepreneurial and pragmatic, creative, take initiatives
  • excellent communicator
  • fluent in Dutch, French and English (German is a plus)

The Department Specialized Nuclear Services is part of the Division ‘Energy Transition & Integrated Solutions’ and as such operates within the Industry Segment of Equans. The Department comprises 2 Sections: Nuclear Contracting and Design, Engineering & Solutions. Together they generate a turnover of €35M with a staff of 300 people. The mission of the Department consist in delivering total solutions to the nuclear sector including onsite technical services & material handling, nuclear logistics, characterization, decontamination & dismantling projects, design & build of nuclear packaging and tooling, and various expertise in specific nuclear domains.

Perimeter

The Section Design, Engineering & Solutions includes the following business activities:

  • decontamination, dismantling & Waste (including chemical decontamination operations and waste characterization)
  • fuel (including (un)loading of operations and nuclear fuel and on-site consultancy)
  • nuclear Logistics and controlled areas (including nuclear transports)

The Section also encompasses the design of technical solutions offered for both internal as external customers (including feasibility studies, technical calculations, safety files, design and construction).
