Senior Java Developer – Leuven – Freelance 6 months+

For my IoT client in Leuven, I am searching for a freelance Senior Java Developer to join their Development Squad on a 6 month rolling contract.

This is fully remote until covid restrictions are lifted when you will be required on-site 2 days per week in Leuven.

As a senior developer you are responsible for:

  • Revising or drawing up technical analyzes and technical design in consultation with the architect.
  • Developing various functions as defined in the functional and technical analysis.
  • Defining the interfaces between the different layers of the architecture.
  • Developing Spring Boot backend services and security
  • Developing unit tests for test driven development
  • Monitoring non-functional requirements
  • Peer code review according to gitflow principle

Required knowledge & skills:

Technical context

Thorough knowledge of and senior experience with:

• Microservices Architecture and Solutions

• Docker, Kubernetes

• Java 11+

• Maven 3

• Spring framework (Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Batch, Spring Data JPA, ...)

• RESTful Web Services (Spring MVC)

• Reactive programming

• Junit, Spring Test
