Roles & Responsibilities

Alongside the Life Sciences Sector Lead and Life Sciences Strategy lead, co-lead the development of KPMG Life Sciences service offering:

  • Actively participate in the development of our Life Sciences service offering to meet our Life Sciences clients’ strategic and operational opportunities and challenges;
  • Lead business development activities within the Life Sciences service line or cross- Advisory by leveraging new and existing relationships with C-level executives;
  • Be co-responsible for profitable growth of the Life Sciences practice;
  • Support the recruitment and capability development of consultants across Life Sciences;
  • Lead strategy and operational engagements in the Life Sciences sector, potentially as well in other process industries, such as chemicals;
  • Establish client value propositions that tie key strategic, financial and operational metrics directly to near and long-term business improvement;
  • Manage the engagement from start to finish, including setting scopes, budgets, staffing resources, creating and coordinating final deliverables, and assisting with the presentation of results;
  • Act as an engagement manager on one or more projects and clients to help ensure successful problem formulation, comprehensive analysis, and problem resolution;
  • Provide oversight of highly skilled KPMG work teams throughout the project lifecycle and serve as the primary team interface with various levels of executives.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Either a minimum of 5 years consulting experience in a client-facing discipline at a Big 4 or boutique consulting firm, with a demonstrated spike in one or more Life Sciences sectors (pharma, medical devices, biotech);
  • Or a minimum of 2-year experience at a Big 4 or at Tier 1 strategy consulting firm or at a Life Science consulting boutique complemented by at least 3 years of experience in the Life Sciences industry in a corporate strategy, internal consulting, brand management, market access, business development, or commercial excellence discipline
  • Experience in one or more of the following consulting areas: organic and inorganic growth strategy, portfolio strategy and corporate planning, product innovation, market/product assessments, business model transformations, operating model, and profitability improvement
  • Strong business acumen, proven analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent project management and people management skills, deep knowledge of one or more Life Sciences sectors, and an excellent communicator in English and French and/or Dutch.
  • Additional strong assets:
  • Proficiency in English and Dutch or French
  • Knowledge of several Life Sciences sub-sectors
  • Knowledge and experience with design thinking and strategic design consulting
