Senior Project Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Project Engineerto work on diverse kind of project and also to act as Lead Engineer on small and medium scale projects within our Process Systems Solutions division.

Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, you will act as front-end person towards Belgian customers, performing technical project work on assigned projects, according to Emerson’s standards and processes on project execution and adherent to our quality system. You will also ensure a profitable job execution within the targets for systems’ projects and related services, in line with high quality standards and responsiveness assuring a local, competent, direct and easy communication channel with customers.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

• Perform technical work within scope of assigned responsibilities as specification analysis, software design, configuration and engineering work, system start-up assistance, etc.
• Plan and organize the work for all team members and ensure a high level of quality in the work delivered by the project team
• Provide a highly responsive service-oriented interface to the customer and act as focal point for all technical communication (follow-up on the open points for the assigned projects and communicate the status on regular basis to the customer; take the lead in organizing technical meetings with the customer and write reports of these meetings)
• Provide periodic reports to the Project Manager and/or Engineering Team Leader on the status & progress of the work within scope of assigned responsibilities
• Maintain active and complete files on assigned projects and special agreements
• Assure contractual scope of work is maintained and maximized. Take initiative with customer and/or internally to assure scope of work does not change without adequate coordination and compensation.
• Manage communication lines with Remote Engineering Center
• Support Systems order bookings by participating in presentation and demonstration to qualified accounts and assisting in preparation and presentation of quotations and proposals
• Provides the necessary information to allow administrative follow-up and order handling
• Act as a role model for Junior Project Engineers and Project Engineers
• Acquire and maintain an overall knowledge of Emerson Process Management Systems Products and related equipment/services, their uses and applications

FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED:

• DCS background (is mandatory) with strong understanding of Process Automation industry
• Engineering Degree, or equivalent, in a relevant field such as: electronic, electrical, energy or automation
• Minimum 5 year of experience in a similar position combined with a Project Engineer role
• Good communication and people management skills
• Resilience and situational adaptability
• Capability to work under stress and high performance/ expectations pressure
• Ability to analyze technical matters and come up with the best performance/ price solutions for Emerson Process Management and the customer
• Fluent Dutch & English language skills (verbal, reading and writing) is mandatory along with willingness to learn French
• Availability to travel and spend almost 20% of working time at customer’s site
