As a core member of the IT service team, you are the first line in helping our customers with their requests for support. You solve incidents based on procedures, give information to users requesting help, and take part in the borrow service for our customers on campus.
The job
- Solve incoming tickets based on procedures written out by your 2nd line colleagues.
- Follow up on outstanding issues in 2nd or 3rd line, while communicating with the customer.
- Provide help and information to our customers who address the service desk.
- Be responsible for our borrow service, making sure every borrow request is fulfilled in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain the user support documents and portals.
- Execute regular checks on systems using the procedures in place.
- Communicate flaws or weaknesses in procedures to your 2nd line colleagues so they can improve them.
- Want to provide quality service. ‘Customer first’ is not just a tag line for you.
- Have a strong affinity with IT and an eye for detail.
- Are a Sherlock Holmes in finding a solution, and a Dr Watson in communicating to your customers.
- Have experience within a customer support function and value active listening.
- Are tech-savvy and have a good knowledge of the MS Office package. Knowing your way around other tools (e.g., Salesforce, Zoom,…) is a plus.
- Have excellent written & verbal communication skills in English and Dutch.
- Will be based on our beautiful campus in Ghent. When your work allows for it, you can also work from your home office.
