Software Engineer

Duties:

Test Requirement Analysis

  • Understand the Data Model of Intel-FS Spiral 1, identify data inconsistencies on individual servers and replicated data between servers/sites, propose/implement solutions and options
  • Act as liaison between the Spiral 2 project team, capturing requirements for data clean-up and map them to Spiral 1 data model, adapt them when possible/needed and
  • Become a reliable Level 2 support team member and provide the engineering bridge between the Level 2 and Level 3 support teams
  • Propose/implement the clean-up tasks
  • Ensure the reference system setup matches the requirements for the Spiral 1 to Spiral 2 data migration
  • Provide daily Level 2 support for the operational users, as required
  • Make suggestions and proactive improvements based on gathered experience and best practices

Requirements:

  • Experienced software engineer with proven level 2 and level 3 support tasks in a multinational and/or military organisation of minimum 5 years in various roles (.NET, C#, IIS, Linux, NodeJS, Windows Server Administrator, Active Directory Administration, Network Administrator, Storage solutions specialist, Virtualization)
  • Advanced SQL development, including stored procedures, triggers, optimization of indexes and database performance, data consistency monitoring, data clean-up and data migration experience
  • Very good knowledge of SQL Server Databases Administration and querying, ElasticSearch experience, (PostGreSQL knowledge on top is a plus)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft .NET applications, ability to read/debug C# code and understand/extract the Entities/Entity Relationship Diagram based on C# code
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Monitoring solutions (like Splunk or Elastic/Kibana) in order to be able to assess the Spiral 1 status across the enterprise
  • Desirable: previous experience in NATO including application support, knowledge of NATO change management processes, SATs, UATs
  • Ability to configure and maintain a reference system environment for data migration purposes
  • Configuring from scratch fail over clusters using Microsoft Technologies
  • Hardware and software configuration of Server hosting platforms, custom disk configurations with specific storage controllers, RAID configuration, redundancy and safety approach in all levels of designing in implementing of the solutions
  • Network configuration, ideally using NetGear Switches, VLAN segmenting and routing, good grasp of the TCP/IP stack, trunking and network teaming, redundancy and resiliency
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with HP storage solutions using both SSDs and mechanical disks
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with Fibre Channel configuration using CISCO switches and HP storage solutions
  • Very good virtualization skills, preferably on Hyper-V with System Center integration
  • Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, WSUS, GPOs, Domain Federation Services/multi domain environment, MS exchange server configuration
