The opportunity

The Factory is a startup team within EY. We support the growth of startups & scale-ups and facilitate innovation tracks within companies. The Factory resides in the EY wavespace, based in Antwerp right next to Berchem train station. This hub is carefully designed to facilitate open innovation.

The function

We are looking for a Startup Consultant to join our team. Together with the Startup Lead and 2 team members, you will be responsible for maintaining and broadening the startup network in Belgium (Flanders, BXL, and Wallonia). Because of your daily contact with startups, you detect common or specific challenges and trends. Your goal is to help them solve these challenges with the help from EY experts. You will, for example, organize startup workshops/events to support their growth, introduce startups to the right EY expert they need to solve a specific issue, organize a VC roundtable to discuss the different valuation methods and, thereby, maintain our investor network, etc.

Your profile

  • You have a degree in finance, economics, innovation management or you compensate the degree with very relevant experience
  • You have a passion for startups and innovation
  • You can relate to the entrepreneurial life and are able to converse with entrepreneurs
  • You love to work in a team and aren’t afraid of taking initiative
  • You are an extravert that loves to mingle with people and build relationships
  • You have strong organizational skills: you understand that drinks & an updated guest list are just as important as finding the speakers when organizing (network) events
  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset: curious for new things & spotting opportunities to improve our services to startups
