For our client in the region of Brussels, we are looking for an experienced freelance System Engineer.

What You Do

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in managing and maintaining complex IT environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Windows Server technologies. Knowledge in virtualization platforms such as VMware, Linux systems, SCCM, and networking is highly valued. This role demands a pragmatic, efficient, and solution-oriented individual who thrives in a diverse and challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP:
    • Design, implement, and manage Active Directory infrastructures.
    • Configure and maintain DNS and DHCP systems to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Windows Server Administration:
    • Manage the full lifecycle of Windows Servers, including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades.
    • Monitor server performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Virtualization Platforms:
    • Be the a strong contributor to VMware environments, by helping the current owner of the technology.
    • Evaluate and implement virtualization best practices.
  • Linux Administration (Preferred):
    • Provide support and management for Linux-based systems.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with Windows and other platforms.
  • SCCM (Preferred):
    • Utilize SCCM for application deployment, patch management, and endpoint monitoring.
  • Networking (Preferred):
    • Collaborate with network teams to troubleshoot and optimize systems.
    • Good understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and VLAN configurations is a plus.
  • Environment:
    • Operate effectively in a complex and diverse environment with a mix of technologies and stakeholders.
    • Contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
What You Bring To The Team

  • Experience: 7+ years in systems engineering, with a proven track record in managing complex environments.
  • Technical Expertise: Mastery of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Windows Server, and VMware.
  • Preferred Knowledge: Linux, SCCM, and networking fundamentals.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert, VMware Certified Professional) are highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Foster collaboration by sharing expertise with colleagues and mentoring junior team members.
  • Eager to Learn: Stay updated on emerging technologies and seek opportunities to expand technical skills.
