Job Description

Janssen Pharmaceutica is recruiting for a Technical Services Manager within the MAKE Asset Management (MAM) organization. The position will be based in Geel, Belgium.

The MAM Organization operates as one integrated team in the delivery of Engineering, Maintenance and Execution System activities.

The Geel chemical production site has a special role in the J&J network as launch & grow site. Beside production of API’s the site has also a mission to introduce new NPI and let the volume grow. To accomplice this launch & grow mission we keep investing in design of new technologies and new installations. As an example, we have our Chemical Development Pilot Plant (CDPP). This plant will make the bridge between API early development on a small lab scale and the commercials production at large scale.

You will be a member of the Geel MAM Risk Management Team.

Job Summary

The Principal Engineer Service Management must set up, improve, review MSA (Managed Service Agreements) to create improvement in the collaboration with external service providers at the Geel site.

You also must make the connect towards the API SM network and the MTO Extended Workforce team to create alignment on how to work with external service providers.

This position is key to support the ongoing effort to improve and go to performance-based partnership with external service providers.

• Increase value generation by external service providers by proper service provider selection and implementing performance-based partnerships
  
  

Responsibilities And Impact You Will Have

• Review external service provider landscape, service provider categorization and strategic direction setting per service provider
• Review and facilitate the service provider selection process
• Development and review of contracts/ MSA (Managed Service Agreements) in collaboration with purchase department for the external partners to ensure compensation is based on performance-based metrics (KPI’s) to ensure the expectations of the customer are met
• The scope of this external partners contains as well technical safety (Hazop, PSV calculations), technical compliance (CSV and equipment qualification), Reliability (RCM), Engineering (mechanical and piping, E&I, software and network systems)
• Follow up on cost, orders, billing for the different MSA and initiate cost improving opportunities
• Act as the single point of contact (SPOC) for contractors to:
• Ensure that all required safety and environmental requirements are met.
• Ensure that mechanism exists to provide for effective two-way communication between customer and supplier. This includes setting up a governance structure with clear roles and responsibilities and the organization of steering meetings for key partnerships.
• Being spokesperson towards internal costumers.
• Lead a team of internal SPOCs for the different service providers and by doing this keep alignment about same way of working with external service providers.
  
  
Qualifications

Experience and Skills:

The successful candidate will have experience, skills, and a track record of achievement in the following:

• Detailed and deep understanding of contractor management in a technical environment
• Management experience within an engineering and/or maintenance environment
• Effectively partners with different (external) engineering and supply chain organizations.
• Project management experience.
• You acquired a master’s degree or equal trough experience. Preferred fields of study are Engineering or Science.
