What you will do

As a Software QA Engineer, you will be part of our team developing a remote supervision and control system to be integrated in an autonomous freight train. The development and integration phase are planned in 2024 and is followed by a yearlong trial phase. This project is in line with Europe’s strategy for the modal shift to rail in terms of freight and passenger transportation for greener mobility and freight. As a Software QA Engineer on this project, your job is to make sure the software works well and is reliable.

Tasks and responsibilities

Create and run module and interface tests, to ensure robustness, find vulnerabilities and check how the different parts of the software work together.
Work closely with the team who writes the code, helping them improve it and making sure everything runs smoothly.
Setting up and managing the test automation framework.
Test and validate the system in a simulator
Take part in the team’s code reviews, maintaining an efficient, modular, and scalable code base.
Work together with our partners for the testing and integration phase.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, optimizing our DevOps practices for more streamlined and efficient development cycles
Requirements
Expertise in implementing testing workflows, automated testing frameworks and ensuring high standard code quality.
Experience in C++
QA experience in a complex (multiple subsystems and interfaces) system project.
Willing to learn and code in Rust if not yet learned
Experience in CI/CD pipeline maintenance.
Proficiency in giving thorough code reviews, using Git and managing code repositories.
Fluent in English (spoken & written) and knowledge of any other European language is a plus.
Experience in Rust is a pus
Experience in railway systems is a nice to have
