McLarty’s Europe office in Brussels supports clients on both sides of the Atlantic to navigate EU legislative, trade and regulatory developments, offering a unique window into policy- and decision-making processes and ability to solve client problems. We are a small and dynamic team driven to deliver tailor-made solutions and help our clients make informed business decisions, develop and implement strategies, and appropriately deploy resources – ensuring they always have the tools in hand to succeed.
Our Brussels office is offering a trainee position (for a period of six months to one year)for graduate students to support our Europe practice.
Responsibilities Include, But May Not Be Limited To
- Conducting research on public policy, international, and business issues;
- Monitoring regional news outlets;
- Providing analysis, writing short reports, briefing materials and memos on various sectors and subjects with a strong focus on trade and sustainability;
- Following policy debates in the European Institutions as well as at Member States level;
- Navigating the political landscape pre- and post European elections
- Assisting in the coordination and organization of events and delegation visits;
- Attending conferences, hearings and seminars, as needed;
- Other duties as assigned.
- Accomplished researchers with strong analytical skills;
- Excellent writers with a high proficiency in English (fluency in spoken and written English is a must);
- Strongly preferred if additionally possess proficiency in other European languages;
- Familiar working in an international and multilingual environment;
- Passionate about European politics, the energy transition and transatlantic relations;
- Interested in European public affairs and familiar with the EU’s decision-making processes;
- Attentive to details;
- Able to operate in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality;
- Team oriented and able to adapt to new tasks, as needed.
