Team/division Description

Your team and your responsibilities

The Software Toolchain & Development team in R&D Electronics Engineering division is responsible for

  • Setting up tools & processes for inhouse vehicle software development (using Matlab-Simulink, C/C++, Java, Flutter and other environments)
  • Developing European & global market SW applications/services for instrument clusters, multimedia units, data communication modules and others
  • Contributing to software standards like AUTOSAR, SDV, cyber security etc

Your project

  • To support the team on in-vehicle infotainment software development, you will be responsible for improving TME existing software test processes based on industry latest standards. On this, the expected tasks will be:
    • Learn TME current software testing method by testing applications under development on software emulators & actual hardware benches
    • Identifying time consuming steps in the testing process
    • Proposal of improvements to overcome these, based on industry best practices (BDD, Gen AI, …)
    • Implement the proposed solutions in Toyota existing processes (incl CI/CD) & apply it on ongoing projects
    • Support creation & improvement of testing metrics tracking

Your Profile

  • You are fluent in English (TME business language)
  • You are enrolled into a master in computer science (embedded software or mobile application development) or equivalent
  • You have a strong interest in software testing, automotive and electronics systems
  • You are strong in problem-solving, logical thinking, reporting and have good planning & organizational skills
  • You have good knowledge of:
    • Software testing best practices
    • Linux OS (Ubuntu) environment (using bash/shell commands)
  • Following knowledge/skills are considered as an asset:
    • Programming (front end) applications using Java
    • Experience using Github & Github actions
    • Experience w/ generative AI

Due to business requirement, not all performed projects can be reflected in the internship report. This issue needs to be discussed with candidate/school in advance.

It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.

We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium)
