The ESG Data team is responsible for curating and producing the best ESG data and insights that uniquely support the decision making needs of Moody’s clients. Data and insights are delivered upon agreed coverage, timeliness and quality objectives, using effective and innovative processes and solutions.
The AVP for ESG Data & Insights will in particular:
  • Lead the team in charge of producing ESG contents on a group of sectors :
  • Lead a team of data analysts and outsourcers producing ESG contents on a group of sectors
  • Oversee delivery of production plans and communicate on progress through standard reporting
  • Oversee implementation of new data production processes and contribute to enhancements
  • Ensure ESG contents are delivered in line with quality standards and other market expectations
  • Ensure quality guidelines are being implemented and contribute to their enhancements
  • Support budget planning process and seek to lead a cost efficient data organization
Deliver domain expertise in support of growing sales:
  • Contribute to data definition to ensure correct understanding and use by stakeholders
  • Engage with Strategy and Sales team to help define positioning of ESG expertise
  • Support Sales and marketing activities by representing Moody’s ESG or Climate expertise in client outreach and public relations initiatives (multiple channels)
  • As a topic and sector expert, seek to write thought leadership which will be used to help the industry better understanding ESG or Climate evolving matters and support Moody’s brand positioning and sales campaigns.
  • Contribute to business transformation and lead its implementation within data production teams:
  • In team with ESG peers, support transition to new methodology and integrated data pipeline
  • Drive culture of quality, timeliness and standardization within the team
  • Contribute to projects intended to build a best of breed ESG or Climate data production process
  • Create high performing teams and attract best talents:
  • Attract, recruit, develop and grow subject matter experts and data analysts
  • Manage people related matters including motivation, performance and upskilling needs
  • Ensure clarity around objectives, production guidelines and growth opportunities
  • Develop and launch fit for purpose training curriculum and content as needed, set targets
  • Seek to create an attractive working environment that is anchored in “Purpose First”
  • Collaborate effectively across teams with a view to create best outcome for MA
  • As opportunities arise, contribute to discussions with other Moody’s teams to understand priorities, gain support and collaborate on key initiatives
  • Proactively collaborate with MA teams on issues of automation and standardization
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree or 5 years’ experience in ESG research field
  • 2+ years of work experience in managing ESG teams
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Expert knowledge of ESG methodologies and standards
  • Highly organized and efficient
  • Good PowerPoint skills and knowledge of MS Excel and Word, ease with Miro a plus
  • Team spirit, communication, and good listening skills, ability to communicate to a wide range of audiences in a clear and effective way
