Company: POLITICOPOLITICO is looking for an entrepreneurial, results-oriented Business Development Manager to join our dynamic and growing political intelligence analysis division. POLITICO is a pioneering and growing media company that covers the politics, policy, and personalities of the European Union.The position is based in POLITICO Europe headquarters in Brussels.Role & ResponsibilitiesThe Business Development Manager position is a sales position with the objective to grow and develop the division’s book of clients in Europe. We seek an experienced and talented consultative seller who works proactively to achieve business objectives while maintaining a culture of collaboration, development, and achievement. The successful candidate will be a confident communicator with strong client-facing competences as well as smart and efficient internal stakeholder engagement skills.A major part of the role will be growing our client base in Brussels and beyond. This role is a great opportunity for an individual with an existing EU network to grow and expand strong client relationships.The ideal candidate will:- Have a strong entrepreneurial mindset and a client services ethic
- Develop outreach strategies to build relationships and drive new business revenue with clients
- Maintain a thorough understanding of client’s policy priorities, business and lead strategic advice across teams
- Keep updated on competitive trends within assigned territories
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities to achieve sales results
- Conceptualize, prepare, and deliver sales presentations
- Embody the successful brand presence of POLITICO in the market, represent POLITICO at member briefings, network events and industry conferences
- Have a well-developed personal network and knowledge of the EU Public Affairs sector
- Bring energy and thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- At least 3-5 years of professional experience
- Strategic mindset and experience in consultative selling with the ability to identify clients’ needs and deliver solution-based packages
- Proven track record in meeting or exceeding high sales targets and managing client relationships
- Inspiring presentation skills and pitches
- Ability to prioritize and recognize business critical matters while remaining adaptable
- Team-oriented mindset with capacity to coordinate with different stakeholders within the organization
- A university degree is required
- Fluent English, written and spoken; French and/or German will be a plus
- Experience with the Microsoft Suite, especially PowerPoint to be used in presentations
- Exposure to Salesforce or other CRM tools
- Gravitas and confidence, someone who can comfortably communicate with all levels of people within a business
- Outgoing nature and a can-do attitude
