Robert Halfis currently looking for an experienced Chief Accountant based in Wilrijk. You will come into a growing but stable and friendly environment where empowerment and mutual trust are key words. You will be the backbone in the small finance team and in this position you will report to the Financial Controller.

Our client is active in sales and distribution of medicines, self-care products and medical devices. They aim to maximize access to medicines for all people by offering affordable care in all therapeutic areas.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities
  • Accounting responsible for several legal entities across several countries;
  • Responsible for AP/AR/GL/ banks/payments/ payroll accounting;Prepare quarterly reporting: P&L, balance sheet , reconciliations, provisions, depreciations,...;
  • You will ensure a proper cash flow reporting and cash planning;
  • Filing of monthly VAT/INTRASTAT returns;
  • Preparation and filing of the fiscal and statutory financial statements for all legal entities;
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives for all financial processes, procedures and systems;
  • The position has no direct reports but requires close collaboration with all departments, in- and outside of the company.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Accounting, any additional qualification will be considered;
  • At least 7 years of relevant work experience;
  • Knowledge of accounting software or ERP systems is a must, preferably AFAS;
  • Proficiency with MS Office standard applications;
  • Proficiency with online applications used for statutory reporting (like Sofista…);
  • Planning and organization skills;
  • Fluent in Dutch. Proficient in English and basic knowledge of French;
  • Good knowledge of BEGAAP and willingness to keep this knowledge up to date;
  • Strong analytical mindset;
  • Able to work independently and highly meticulous;
  • Curious, entrepreneurial, positive, can-do mindset with a proactive attitude.
