As Data Engineer, you will be responsible for the completeness, consistency and performances of the systems. You will also ensure the necessary corrective actions to maintain the constant availability and stability of the systems (in collaboration with Data Warehouse Architect and IT Server team).Your Role
  • Reinforce the Carmeuse internal DWH (Data Warehouse) and CPM (Corporate Performance Management) team
  • Participate to the architecture design of the Data Warehouse and its connections to the multiple source systems
  • Lead the analysis and development of our new Data Warehouse based on MS-SQL, MDS (Master Data Services) and TimeXtender technologies
  • Lead the design and processing of the Presentation Layer (Tabular Models) with the Power BI Analyst(s) to ensure good performances, stability and flexibility
  • Be an active contributor in the data validation process by facilitating the access to the data in respect to security and confidentiality
  • Support the users to access and use the BI (Business Intelligence) and CPM systems
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation
  • Be a stakeholder in systems evolutions and future developments
Your Tasks
  • System and Interfaces support
  • Lead the system optimizations and updates (planning, testing, training)
  • Design and maintain ETL’s from or to other systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, SQL, …) in respect of reliability and performances
  • Ensure the extractions schedule is reliable and optimized to fit the Business needs
  • Design and maintain system procedures and system governance
  • Application support
  • Design and develop new DWH star schemas using the best practices inspired by Kimball for new business domains
  • Maintain and improve existing Star Schemas, Tabular Models and BI Reports
  • Analyze and set up MDS entities and Business Rules
  • Users support
  • Help the users to access and use the systems in respect to security policies
  • Prepare training documentation and provide training support
  • Projects
  • Be stakeholder in improvement of the systems (e.g. digitalization, cloud, AI, etc.)
  • Contribute actively to the implementation of new Data Warehouse projects
  • Design integration tests scenarios and plans for new applications and programs
Your ProfileBasic requirements
  • University level or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Data Warehouse development (MS-SQL, SSIS, SSAS, MDS)
  • Knowledge of TimeXtender is a plus
  • Experience in SAP ECC systems is a plus
  • Experience in BI Azure is a plus
  • Experience in projects related to controlling, forecasting, or finance is a plus
  • Good communicator in French and English, verbally and in writing
Knowledge
  • MS-SQL database management (Management Studio, Visual Studio)
  • TimeXtender is a plus
  • Power BI Desktop
  • Programming languages: DAX, VBA, HTML, SQL
