To strengthen our European headquarters in Heist-op-den-Berg (Belgium),

we’re recruiting a motivated

Design Engineer

In this position you are responsible for providing technical support, planning and organization, as well as the complete follow-up of various engineering projects. You work in a global team of designers who are involved in the development of the new products. The focus is particularly on the product group of the adiabatic appliances.

Your key responsibilities are:

  • You are responsible for the design of new products and accessories. With this, you specifically focus on finding a balance between quality, cost and the technical feasibility of your designs, and this by means of 2D or 3D design software.
  • During the assembly process you support our production workers and you are co-responsible for the testing of prototypes or customer specials.
  • You make your own critical analysis using calculations for various technical aspects such as noise, vibration, piping design, pump selection and strength calculations, this in order to implement new technical solutions for the newly developed products.
  • You have a coordinating role and are co-responsible for the entire planning and organization of the complete design and implementation process.

Are you an engineer who combines a strong technical knowledge with the necessary design skills?

  • You graduated in industrial engineering and partly because of your knowledge and experience you can manage and supervise projects from the conceptual phase until its implementation. By preference you have 5 years of experience in a similar position in an industrial environment.
  • You have a very good knowledge of 2D and 3D design software.
  • You have a good knowledge of MS Office and can work fluently with Excel.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC/cooling systems is an asset.
  • Preferably you have experience in Mechanical Equipment Design, DFMEA design, and a good technical insight for making calculations.
  • You speak Dutch perfectly and you can express yourself in English both orally and in writing. Knowledge of French and/or German is an asset.
  • You combine strong analytical skills with a strong sense of accuracy.
  • You are a team player with strong social and communicative skills.
  • You are willing to travel to other BAC production sites.
