BeEM Strategy & Performance Compliance department is supporting other BeEM business such Technical Operations Wavre, Rixensart Engineering, Automation, Technology & Validation, SPU Contract Management and Asset Care in order to comply to EHS requirements.
Our department major activities are performing Risk Assessment, support other services CAPA delivery (adherence and compliance), organizing/performing/leading Audits (L1/L2/L3/L4) for BeEM, monitoring and delivering EHS training, developing Safe System of Work program, and ensuring EHS Culture improvement.
Your responsibilities:
Responsible for advising the company and employees on health and safety legislation and compliance. Develops and implements company policies, plans and professional standards, meeting any changes to legal or operational requirements.
- Certifies the safety of chemical products for placement in company or customer environments
- Develops site/plant personnel safety programs and trains employees at the plant, develops/teaches hazard avoidance and disease prevention
- Acts as a consultant, reviews facilities and manufacturing processes for potential safety risks
- Develops and monitors implementation of training and education programs for safety compliance strategies and various regulatory requirements in a manufacturing safety
- Monitors the adherence to guidelines and policies
- Monitors the adherence to constructional and operational fire protection regulations
- Conducts safety studies
- Assist the EHS Managers in assuring sites compliance to Belgium regulations and GSK policies and standards, minimizing industrial risks and preventing occupational injuries.
- Perform workplaces risks screenings and analysis (lead specific taskforces)
- Perform risks analysis for new products, processes and projects
- Develop sites safety/ergonomics/industrial hygiene/fire/environment protection programs
- Promote a prevention culture among the organization
- Prepare and organize trainings
- Review new capital investments (regarding EHS aspects) and advise the project managers
- Organize emergency response drills
- Issue EHS procedures and specifications
- Analyze incidents, first aids, accidents, spills and propose preventive/corrective actions
- Support and advise line management.
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

- Engineering degree or BSc in sciences (electro-mechanics, chemistry, environment, etc…)
- Demonstrates fluency in spoken and written English
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics it would be a plus:
(insert other qualifications, skills, experience and personal qualities)
- Registered safety advisor (level 1 or 2), or environmental Coordinator EHS regulations, methodologies and technologies
- At least 5 years professional experience with at least 3 years in similar business (biotech, pharma, food industry)
