While we have been in business for over 160 years, Carmeuse continues to grow with close to 10 acquisitions in just the last 4 years, and more on the horizon! With these new businesses comes the opportunity to offer additional products, services and solutions to our customers, along with expanding our reach. The Steel Market Manager plays a lead role in driving these growth opportunities as a key member of our Marketing.
We are looking to empower the right person with the resources necessary to make a difference for our Steel customers and Carmeuse. You will be part of a close-knit team of Technical Specialists, Content Creators, Analysts, and Sales whose passion is to solve customer problems, drive innovation, uncover new opportunities, design creative promotional material, and develop effective messaging to take Carmeuse to the next level. This role is essential in turning ideas into reality for our future success.

Your challenge
- Having a strategic view of global and European steel industry, the European Steel market manager, set Carmeuse steel vision and strategic plan, orchestrate, and monitor its EMEA regional implementation.
- Accompany and support key accounts management, establish clear customer persona.
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term key accounts relationships, understanding in detail their management & decision-making structure, needs (stated or unstated), processes, their customers, and markets.
- Mentor, develop and train Carmeuse responsible key account managers responsible for steel accounts
- Monitor and assess all market and key account related information (competition activity, new applications in assigned segments, new customer requirements or process, technical evolutions…) and feedback where appropriate to ensure that relevant information is used to adapt the sales tactics.
- Passionate on steel technology with a good grip on emerging technologies, the candidate will drive growth, support existing commercialization projects while exploring, developing, and leading new business opportunities.
- Explore potential opportunities in digitalizing lime usage in steel industry and lime potency to decarbonization, promoting and building up on “lime as solution for decarbonization”.
- Define and execute product & services roadmap for steel market
Ideal candidate
Education
- Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering or Related Field
- MBA a plus
Experience
- 7+ years’ experience in steel melting / preferable EAF of which 5 years at senior management position, marketing, business development, and/or industrial role
Needed knowledges
- MS Office proficiency
- Lime application knowledge in steel industry especially sinter plant, EAF’s and secondary metallurgy
- Ability to understand technical concepts
- Solid business acumen with the ability to think strategically and to translate into tactical actions
- Ability to create, execute and adapt effective marketing plans
- Can set achievable goals and establish metrics to measure performance
Needed skills
- Willingness to take a proactive approach in thoroughly understanding the steel market(s) and build beneficial customer relationships
- Demonstrate exceptional communication skills: written, oral, listening and presentation with a good platform presence. Able to build a repo with C-suite of steel industry
- Can effectively communicate strategies to all levels within the organization
- Possess strong problem solving and decision making skills
- Execution focused
- Ability to travel approximately 25% - mostly in Europe, with some international (Middle East, Americas)
