You at AGC’s Technovation Centre – Intellectual Property – your mission
- You will be based at the Technovation Centre close to Brussels (Belgium) where research & development, engineering and IP activities are centralized under one roof with 280 members of personnel
- More specifically you will join our IP Department - a team of approximately 20 people (including 5 European patent attorneys) passionate about managing the intellectual property of the group in Europe (patents, TM, copyright,…) as well as R&D’s legal affairs.
- You will be responsible for the provision of IP services in an assigned field of competence. You will enjoy full autonomy in this role. You will engage with technical, legal and commercial teams across various levels within the business ie
- Management of all patent actions relating to each project, including drafting, filing and prosecution of applications in agreed jurisdictions around the world, either directly or through liaising with international agents;
- Defense of IP rights;
- Drafting of contractual legal documents including, but not confined to, IP clauses.
- Advising the innovation community and internal stakeholders on best positioning of innovation to optimize its protection;
- Participation in research steering committees, advising on patent issues affecting the direction of innovation.
Your scientific and IP profile
- Your technical background is in mechanics, electromechanics or physics. A PhD is a distinct advantage, but is not strictly necessary. Ideally, you also enjoy a solid knowledge of glass.
- Preferably, you are a qualified European Patent Attorney. Seasoned IP professionals with at least 5 years of experience will also be considered.
- You have significant experience in drafting priority patent applications, preparing substantive office action responses, and drafting oppositions.
- Ideally, you have worked in an in-house environment. Candidates with sufficient exposure to patent-related subject matters gained within a reputable private practice will also be considered.

- Fluent in French and English (essential). Knowledge of Chinese is a strong plus.
