What will your working day look like?

As Expert Product Stewardship, you manage the chemical raw materials Indaver produces from residual streams based on its vision of the circular economy. Based on your background in chemistry, you ensure that Indaver complies with European regulations such as REACH and CLP. Other relevant laws and regulations are excise goods (alcohols), tied oil (hydrocarbons) and customs handling in the field of waste streams. As this involves rapidly changing legislation, you ensure that you are always up to date with the latest changes so that the organisation can respond proactively.

What will be your biggest challenge?

You are ultimately responsible for full compliance with legislation surrounding chemical

operations and market products based on residual streams. This means that you not only understand the chemical processes and their product information, but also make sure they comply with regulations such as REACH and CLP. You are able to analyse such complex legal texts and translate them into concrete, applicable guidelines for the chemical raw materials and future products. You work carefully and meticulously. At the same time, you have good communication skills to help internal customers understand the complex subject matter so that they act and cooperate in compliance with the legislation.

How will you make a difference?

  • You have a master’s degree in chemical engineering or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • You have experience with, or knowledge of, European chemical legislation and are willing to be trained in it.
  • You have excellent communication skills, you work analytically and accurately and you have an affinity with the circular economy.
  • You have an excellent knowledge of English, knowledge of Dutch, French and German is a plus.
  • Experience with REACH and CLP is also a plus.

Where will you be working?

Indaver is an international waste processor and manager committed to a sustainable circular future. From waste streams, it extracts new raw materials and energy. Hazardous components are destroyed to keep the materials cycle safe. Your place of employment is Singelberg (Kallo), Indaver’s head office. You are part of the international team Industrial Waste Solutions which focuses, among other things, on recovering chemical raw materials from waste streams.
