For one big financial institution in Brussels, we’re looking for a financial controlling officer.
What you’ll do
The financial controlling officer produces and analyses financial reports, and ensures a strong link between the operations evolution and the management reporting message for the Benelux. In addition, the controlling officer builds up forecasts and budgets in order to anticipate the year-end landing, and the future years development, and proposes improvement measures.
The financial controlling officer identify and spread best practices between BE & NL commercial controlling, and is responsible for the harmonization of controlling processes between NL & BE, and strives for the highest standard across the Northern Europe region.
Main tasks :
- General accounting: management of incoming and outgoing invoices, VAT and tax declaration
- Harmonize Benelux reporting system through standard reporting templates
- Participate in the creation of a Benelux budgeting process, enabling a strong audit trail from the operations to the targets KPIs
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting to the head of controlling and if necessary to local Executive Committee
- Continuously analyse and reforcast financial figures, both in detail and macro-level, in order to guarantee quality and consistency of the data
- Follow up on ad hoc request for information and analyses
- Pro-actively propose ad hoc analysis, and ideas for improvements (both in quality, efficiency and new analysis angles)
- Ensure a fluid interactions with the management, the controlling team, the different departments and the Northern Europe controlling team
Who we’re looking for
- You have minimum 4 years of experience in relevant controlling/reporting roles in an international environment.
- You have a Master degree in corporate finance / accounting / economics or equivalence
- You have a professional proficiency in English and French, other languages are a plus
- You have strong accounting/controlling skills and experience.
- You have experience in GL accounting and strong analysis capacity
- You are familiar with Excel. Knowledge of SAP & Finance+ is appreciated
- You have the ability to link operations with commercial KPIs
- You are team player and have the ability to interact with different stakeholders.
- You have the ability to think quick, able to translate complex information in clear and efficient reports
