To strengthen our I2I R&D team, based in our Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of: Global R&D Financial Analytics Lead.

As an I2I R&D Financial Analytics Lead you will play an important role in the development of future outlook of UCB portfolio through application of sound assessment (financial – strategic/portfolio driven) using consistent process and tools for UCB’s assets in development.

The role ensures and maintains a strong relationship with the Immunology, Neurology, Early Solutions and I2I G2M teams to ensure consistency and alignment of relevant assumptions used for the valuation of UCB’s assets in development. The scope goes beyond UCB assets in development, to include investment proposal in devices, business cases introducing new technologies etc.

You like to work in anenvironmentwhere you can:

• Analyze UCB R&D data using different viewpoints (consistency with strategy – affordability for short & long term – risk vs return profile) to identify areas requiring focus and develop recommendations to address any shortfalls
• Apply different perspectives in terms of time of impact – Analytical approach to assess progress and impact of current investments for 1-3 years (short term) and planned investments for future up to 10 years and beyond (long term)
• For governance meetings concerning R&D portfolio (ADB & PSB) engage with Early and Late Stage Missions and portfolio team to assist on the development of financial projections, ensure consistency in the approach and in the use of common set of assumptions.

Yowillcontributeby:

• 
  Evaluating business cases for investment proposals in the scope of UCB’s R&D activities, ranging from assets to devices or technologies and provide support on financial components of analytics projects
• Developing contingency plans for transversal scenarios anticipating

• range of outcomes for upcoming trigger points
• other external events / developments which may have a significant impact on UCB’s portfolio and performance

• Collaborating with BD/MA team to contribute to assessment of inorganic growth opportunities from a transversal R&D perspective with the UCB portfolio in consideration

Interested? For this position you’ll need the followingeducation, experienceandskills:

• Ideally 5-10 years of experience in finance / business development, preferably in international pharma / biopharma company and/or banking/financial services institution focused on assessment and valuation of investments
• Strong skills in financial analysis, forecasting, understanding of business drivers
• Problem solving skills

• Curious mind-set willing to explore different view-points
