Mission

In your role as Group Innovations Controller, you partner up with the Executive Vice President R&D and Sustainability and the R&D and Sustainability teams. Combining a deep understanding of the business with strong analytical skills allow you to support them identifying the right strategic choices.

The role covers all divisions, countries, and categories. You deal with a multi-cultural and multi-language environment and you will interact closely with internal stakeholders like the R&D departments and divisional business controllers, you report directly to the Director Financial Planning & Analysis and Executive Vice President R&D and the Director Financial Planning & Analysis.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the R&D department and sustainability functions with high quality financial analysis and insights for new strategic initiatives
  • Manage the budget, forecast and monthly reporting process for the R&D & Sustainability organization. Discuss costs with respective cost center owners.
  • Playing a key role in supporting new product innovation and other strategic Design To Value initiatives ensuring that the financial impact of new programs is quantified and clearly communicated during the development and implementation process
    • Delivering value adding financial information allowing the R&D to prioritize projects
    • Define financial success criteria (KPI’s) and models for new products, initiatives, … Calculate the value of innovation
    • Calculate projected payback and ROI if capital investment is required
  • Support R&D capex process: capex forecast, capex budget, prepare documentation for capex review meetings.
  • Develop strong partnership with other functional areas (Operations, IT, Finance, Business leaders,…)
  • Assist in ad-hoc projects and requests from business leaders and management.
Background and Experience
  • Master’s degree in finance, business economics or equivalent
  • Min. 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Hands-on and pragmatic
  • Strong analytical thinker
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • IT-literate with strong MS Excel skills, knowledge of SAP is a plus
  • Eager to work in an international and multi-cultural environment
  • Fluent in English, the knowledge of any other language is an important asset
