We currently have a vacancy for a IT Business Analyst fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Brussels, Belgium. The work will be carried out either in the company’s premises or on site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated and closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.

Your tasks:
Gather the business, functional and non-functional requirements of the business units and the project groups of the Member States, if applicable, for the assigned IT projects;
Produce and maintain artefacts related to requirement analysis, specification and design: in close co-operation with the business units and the project teams of the Member States if applicable, ensuring correct integration with other applications and/or technical components and taking into account the functional and technical architectures agreed with the IT architects;
Contribute to the elaboration of functional test scenarios and to the assessment of functional tests;
Contribute to or carry out change request impact assessment;
Prepare and participate to the required trainings, missions, conference calls, and subsequent review of the related material;
Regularly report to the project manager on all project related analysis and design activities;
Assist to the production of technical annexes for the analysis, design and development activities to be performed by the external contractor and to the validation of the correctness of the offer;
Follow up the design, development and testing activities delivered or performed by the external contractor;
Review the deliverables produced by the external contractor and validate the required level of quality of their work;
Assist to the review of the periodically produced reports related to the assigned projects.
Requirements
University degree in IT or a related field and minimum recent 7 years of experience in IT analysis;
Business knowledge of customs procedures and processes, preferably related to the international goods supply chain;
Experience with business process modelling and formalism (BPMN);
Ability to understand the business scope of the project, related legislation, business process descriptions, functional architecture and capacity to follow discussion with business stakeholders and understand their impact on the project scope, definition and defined timelines;
Experience of large scale systems integration projects is required; this same type of experience within Taxation, Excise or Customs environment is an important asset;
Knowledge of the WCO Data Model and EU Customs Data Model;
Knowledge and experience in tools supporting the IT process, service and data analysis activities including ARIS (from Software AG)
Knowledge and experience in GEFEG.FX (from GEFEG GmbH) is an important asset;
Very good problem solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team;
Good communication skills (written and verbal);
Capability of integration in an international/multi-cultural environment. Excellent command in English.
