Junior Category Manager Hardside
Samsonite Travel
Join the European Marketing Team and become part of an industry-leading luggage brand.
If you have a high affinity for travel products and always are on the lookout for your next trip, whether it’s exploring the outdoors or endless strolling in the city, we would love to have you in our team! As the Junior Category Manager Hardside, you’ll have a central role in every single aspect of the product, from idea/concept to full roll out across Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and conduct in-depth analysis of relevant market & consumer trends (lifestyle, fashion, travel, consumer behaviour, digital and retail shopping experience), competition data, new technologies… to anticipate the consumer needs
- Be a driving force behind the development of the strategy and the product plan
- Identify new business opportunities to drive innovation and commercial success
- Lead and follow up the entire product development process from a marketing point of view – from idea to launch to full roll out. Creating the best travel product from idea to sample to final production.
- Develop and create top notch sales materials (catalogue, sales sheets, …)
- Analyse the performance of the category and recommend strategic actions with a focus on sales, profitability and efficiency
- Present product information to key internal and external stakeholders in a clear and comprehensive way
- Work closely together with local European sales teams and distributors on the full implementation and development of the category
- Have a passion and affinity for the brand and specifically the Travel category
- Possess a master’s degree in marketing, Business or Product development. Experience in product development or category management is highly appreciated
- Have an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and PowerBI
- Be proficient in English, spoken and written
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Be independent and a team player: enthusiastic, flexible, responsive and determined
- Be pro-active and show problem-solving skills
- Continuously pay strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Have enhanced creative and analytical skills
- Demonstrate the ability to adapt to a multicultural and changing environment
- Have strong organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities
- Act as an ambassador of the brand
