Ready to support in Digital IC Design at NXP?

NXP Semiconductors Product Line Personal Health, headquartered in Leuven, develops application specific IC’s and accompanying software for use in “Hearing Aids and Implants”- and “Personal Health monitoring” applications. Next to IC’s and software, we develop, maintain and support silicon IP (branded CoolFlux). The main value drivers for our products are battery life time, system level integration (miniaturization), Audio DSP & AI embedded processing power and programmability, with communication around the body.

In order to strengthen the team, we are looking for a Junior Digital IC Design Engineer to support the implementation, documentation of the Digital IC modules, according to the overall specification as defined by the product- and/or Chip–architect. You will be working in a project organization that is compliant with ISO9001 and CMMI standards. Furthermore, you will be working in Leuven (Belgium) and in cooperation with NXP colleagues elsewhere.

Your responsibilities

As a Junior Digital IC Design Engineer you are responsible for:

  • implementation, documentation of the Digital IC modules, according to the overall specification as defined by the product- and/or Chip–architect.
  • proper integration of these Digital modules into the top-level IC design.
  • contribute to the Chip verification and validation activities.
  • support a structured project approach and will be part of a team.
  • expand your knowledge and experience permanently, especially in the connectivity domain and/or in audio processing and/or Machine Learning.

Your profile

To be successful in this role you have:

  • Master degree in Electronic Engineering (micro-/nano-electronics);
  • strong affinity with design of chips for use in Personal Health applications;
  • notions and interest in wireless communication, audio processing and Machine Learning;
  • interest to work with EDA tools for simulation, synthesis, up to gate level;
  • Interest in Ultra Low Power IC design aspects and building FPGA-based prototypes;

Furthermore, you are:

  • ability to work in a team as well as independently; and
  • excellent communication skills in English (verbal/written)

Contract: This is a full-time position with a permanent contract. However, we are open to discuss a part-time opportunity (between 32 and 38 hours) as well.
