TE Connectivity’s Technical Production Support Teams are process leaders for activities related to punching, injection moulding or assembly, ensuring that processes run optimally from a quality and production perspective. They are experts in tools for die-casting and moulds, machining, and assembly techniques; they have extensive knowledge of related production processes, such as optimising and standardising die-cutting/injection moulding/assembly or other processes within the production environment. Technical production support teams enable TE business unit factories to meet TE’s Operating Advantage (TEOA) requirements, set up Centres of Excellence (COE) and Best Demonstrated Practices (BDPs), and advise factories on duplication/adaptation/improvement of tooling and machinery. They design and develop production processes and automation platforms and apply them to develop new products and optimise products already in production. The Teams also support Product Development in selecting and optimising tools for component production and selecting the most suitable production concepts in view of the intended production quantities, quality requirements and the production location. They act as intermediaries between the technical and production departments to ensure that new designs are manufacturable and can be put into production smoothly, and also provide support for the Research & Development teams in producing test production equipment, pilot products and prototypes.

Responsibilities:

• As an Manufacturing Quality Engineer, you will be technically responsible within production for one or more products and processes.
• Both during the start-up phase of new processes and in existing series production, you focus on debugging and achieving the series objectives for the entire value stream.
• You provide daily technical support in production from the start of the production process (delivery of raw materials) to the final product (packaged product, ready for shipment). You are therefore also the direct contact person for the operational departments.
• You bear ultimate responsibility for processing and following up internal and external customer complaints (3D/5D/8D).
• You are responsible for the quality of the product and the quantity (OEE) of your production process.
• You define and coordinate cost-saving projects to reduce product costs and optimise processes in order to sustain stable and robust processes.
• You define, in consultation with logistics, an invest planning of tools (due to end-of-life tools, tool replacement, increased customer demand, ...).
• Within the departments, you have responsibilities in engineering, quality, planning and training, both for the product (adjust, adjust and stabilise) and the production process (optimise and stabilise).

Requirements:

• You have a Bachelor/Master’s degree in a technical field or are equivalent through experience.
• You have professional level English and Dutch language skills (German is a bonus).
• You have a broad technical interest and your eagerness to learn.
• You are a strong coordinator and communicator, and a real team player.
• Your analytical skills are highly developed.
• You are proactive and practical in solving problems.
• Results oriented.
• 6 Sigma knowledge/interest is a plus.
