For our company headquarters in Kortrijk, Belgium, we’re currently looking for a:

Operations Controller/Business Partner

(Permanent/Full Time)

Business controlling at Barco means teaming up with the finance business partners and local finance teams across the world, to bring insights to the corporate leadership team, CFO and CEO’s to drive results towards external and internal financial targets. The finance department has a strong reputation inside and outside Barco. As several colleagues have taken up internal new challenges and expanded their current scope of work, the VP corporate finance is looking for an operations controller to become part of the finance team in Kortrijk.

As Barco’s operations controller you are responsible for financial reporting, analysis, budgeting & forecasting of the world-wide direct and indirect operations costs. You are a business partner to the EVP global operations and member of the operations excom team (including multiple domains: plant manufacturing, procurement, logistics, quality and facility), co-driving business performance and providing analytical support to management decisions.

Function
  • Responsible for the monthly closing including productivity and variance analysis, opex review
  • Product costing ownership: define set-up and rules including overheads, product cost maintenance, providing support to other departments (eg R&D) in all product cost related matters, involved in implementation product costing tool
  • Support and review payback calculations for capital investment projects, make or buy decisions, …
  • Responsible for finance policies & procedures within your domain (eg inventory, capex,…)
  • Assist in providing accurate data to measure and drive planet related sustainability targets
  • Financial analysis of indirect and direct costs
  • Active participation in the yearly budgeting process
  • You have a view and understanding on the operation processes and the business reality behind the numbers and love to spar with different stakeholders
  • You are supported by a pool of controllers and analysts as well as local finance teams

Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Economics, finance or related major
  • 5-7 years of experience, preferably in controlling, a background in external audit is a plus
  • Analytical mindset
  • Experience/knowledge of product costing is a plus
  • Systems and process savvy, good ERP/excel knowledge is a must ; SAP knowledge is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to work in a global team environment, embracing cultural and international diversity
  • ‘Can-do’ mentality
  • Good writing & reporting skills
  • As part of an international group, fluent English writing and speaking skills are a must
  • A critical mindset with high sense for accurate reporting and respecting corporate deadlines.
