The Role

The Portable Air engineering department has an exciting vacancy for a product engineer.

Your goal is to increase product quality and improve existing designs.

• You will act on feedback from customers (field problems through our Service department), and from our own production and purchasing departments.
• You will coordinate activities in all departments to make sure problems are solved (timing and cost), so that our customers get high quality solutions as quickly as possible.
• You will follow up on the whole process from problem definition, to ranked scenarios, to solution implementation.
• You will use your knowledge to assist the product development teams to reduce failure rates and warranty costs of new machines.
• You will analyze data from the field to understand and predict problems
• You will provide solutions to problems that arise and implement product improvements
• You will modify or delegate design tasks and release drawings and BOM modifications
• You will define a test plan, follow up tests and review test results with the test engineer
• You will discuss designs and solution scenarios with suppliers
• You will coordinate/align with production, purchasing, marketing and service and visually
• You will facilitate brainstorm and follow-up sessions with team members to reach interdepartmental solutions
• You will follow projects of colleagues and share lessons learned
• You will report on solution scenarios and progress

You will report to the Teamleader Engineering

This is a hybrid position with the main location onsite based in Antwerp, Belgium

What we expect of you?

• You have a master degree in engineering or a master degree in industrial sciences.
• You efficiently manage timings.
• You are strong in mechanical design.
• You are a team player.
• You are fluent in English.
