Job objective

Reporting to the Logistic Manager, the Purchaser is responsible for the sourcing, procurement and transportation of all technical material required to support Brussels Airlines’ maintenance activities in the most cost-effective manner. The Purchaser takes into consideration price, quality, availability, reliability and technical support for material and supplier selection.


Key result Areas
  • Ensuring the AOG desk for internal and external customers during normal office hours
  • Performing effective technical material request follow-up and order follow-up for all maintenance activities
  • Performing material planning based on historical consumption, material consumption forecast, lead-time, unit price, transport and order cost
  • Managing the repair cycle of repairable material
  • Organizing transport at the best conditions (quality, timing and financially)
  • Handling sales activities of surplus material
  • Revision of invoices
  • Performing ad hoc assignments requested by the Logistic Manager
  • Ensuring a clean workplace and working environment
Required skills and behavioral skills
  • IT literate
  • Technical insight
  • Be able to read technical documentation (IPC, CMM, …)
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written), active knowledge of Dutch and French is an advantage
  • Knowledge of aircraft parts/ tooling is an asset
  • Excellent Communication and Negotiation Skills
  • Commercial awareness – Assertive
  • Self-motivated person who enjoys challenges

Required diploma and relevant experience
  • Minimum A2 or equivalent by experience
  • 2 to 5 years’ experience as a buyer/purchaser preferred
